Emma misses the cutoff for the "normal" preschooler because she has a December birthday. Kevin and I were torn as to what to do because we felt that she was ready to join school. Since I went back to work after my leave from the Adoption, Emma has been watched by my Mother In Law. We thought it best that Emma join school this year. We decided to enroll her in a Full Day Preschool-3 program that our local church offers.
Friday, September 5th, was her official 1st Day of School even though it was only for an hour. It was more of a meet and greet with the teacher, classmates and parents. All three of us were so looking forward to this day.
Well, to make a long story short, Mommies Appendix decided it was time to come out. I was admitted to the Hospital on Friday, Surgery on Saturday and home Monday afternoon. I'm healing fine but am still a little emotional that I couldn't make it to Emma's first day. I still haven't been able to take her yet, but as soon as I can, I will.
Kevin and his parents took Emma (along with the camera). Emma was so excited, the teacher and the parents were excited too. My MIL said that all the children entered the room, they all went to the toys except for Emma, she went to the bookshelf. She is so ready to learn and I can't wait to hear the stories she will tell us.
Monday, she started full-days. 8:30-2:30. She came home Monday from my MIL's with much joy and excitement. Here are some pictures from Emma's first day.
