Sleepy Head

Since Emma has started school, she is really missing her naps. She usually takes anywhere from 2-3 hours. She does have a 30 minute rest time at school but, doesn't fall asleep. This makes it a little challenging when Kevin picks her up at Grammies and brings her home. She has been falling asleep on the way home (right at dinner time). If we wake her, she gets really cranky and mad but, if we let her sleep, she has a hard time going to bed. Yesterday, Kevin brought her in the house and this is how I found her on the couch. Poor thing!! I guess it will take a few weeks to get her in a new routine.

Emma's First Soccer Game

Saturday was Emma's first soccer game. I think she was born to play soccer, she did amazing. Although it was about 90 degrees at 9:00 in the morning, it didn't keep her back. She listened and followed all the instructions that "Coach Rachel" gave. She played a quick 3 on 3 game and even scored twice. She is what they call a "ball hog" though. Kevin took her aside and said that she needed to share the ball with the other children. She had a little bit of a fit because she didn't want to share but she got over it quickly.
Here are some pictures from the day and a small video at the end.

A Day of Firsts

Emma misses the cutoff for the "normal" preschooler because she has a December birthday. Kevin and I were torn as to what to do because we felt that she was ready to join school. Since I went back to work after my leave from the Adoption, Emma has been watched by my Mother In Law. We thought it best that Emma join school this year. We decided to enroll her in a Full Day Preschool-3 program that our local church offers.
Friday, September 5th, was her official 1st Day of School even though it was only for an hour. It was more of a meet and greet with the teacher, classmates and parents. All three of us were so looking forward to this day.
Well, to make a long story short, Mommies Appendix decided it was time to come out. I was admitted to the Hospital on Friday, Surgery on Saturday and home Monday afternoon. I'm healing fine but am still a little emotional that I couldn't make it to Emma's first day. I still haven't been able to take her yet, but as soon as I can, I will.
Kevin and his parents took Emma (along with the camera). Emma was so excited, the teacher and the parents were excited too. My MIL said that all the children entered the room, they all went to the toys except for Emma, she went to the bookshelf. She is so ready to learn and I can't wait to hear the stories she will tell us.
Monday, she started full-days. 8:30-2:30. She came home Monday from my MIL's with much joy and excitement. Here are some pictures from Emma's first day.

AMBER, I NEED YOU!! UPDATE

If anyone has seen Amber, could you please have her call me so I can setup an appointment for a back massage and pedicure. Here is her picture:

For those that don't know, Amber is my niece Haley. When she was here to visit, my sister Kimberly and I were sitting outside on the patio when all of a sudden, Amber showed up with her hair, funny accent and all. She did promise us a massage whichwe never did receive but, we did get our toes painted.

I miss you Amber/Haley.
